Additional Activities for Visitors to Hexham
The 2017 North Tourism Fair will again take place alongside the annual Meet the Maker event
About Meet the Maker
Dawn Goodwill-Evans of Active Northumberland says, “The Meet the Maker trade event attracts scores local makers of art, craft, music, food & drink and links them, with buyers from accommodation, hospitality, restaurants, cafes, tearooms, tourist attractions, Tourist Information Centres, gift shops and local businesses. It is a natural partner to the Tourism Fair.
“The event has proved as popular as ever with our exhibitors – and the opportunity to co-host the event with the Tourism Fair makes it doubly attractive.”

Feedback from some featured Makers & Buyers 2016...
`I found every part of the event yesterday very, very useful and I'm incredibly appreciative of the opportunity. The venue was brilliant and the networking event gave a great opportunity to talk with fellow makers and learn from their experiences. It was great to listen to what else is available and I got a very good contact from one of the other makers.
Can't thank you enough for organising an event like this and letting me be a part of it.`
'The venue for the speed networking session was a perfect size for the activity, but more importantly the overall venue was excellent - I was very impressed with Hexham Mart. As someone who has been to several 'art exhibitions' in Marts (Cockermouth Wool Fest, Penrith Pot Fest as well as Art in the Pens and Stiches in the Pens in Yorkshire) I was a little apprehensive of what Hexham Mart might have to offer. It was warm, pleasant, comfortable, with good facilities, food available and a good size for all the stalls - thank you for organising the day.
We all seemed willing to share ideas about the best places to try and sell our own particular type of product and to know that many others are 'in the same boat' trying to make contacts.'
